Stacked on #2319 → #2318. Anomalies now live in the Alerts hub instead of a separate area.

What changed

  • Rule editor, Anomaly mode. Scope by services, environments and signals (each empty means all), then route the warning and critical tiers. Comparator, threshold, window, query and preview are hidden.

    • The default anomaly rule keeps its scope locked and may stay unrouted.
    • Scoped anomaly rules need a destination on at least one tier.
  • Incident page. An anomaly incident shows the detector's evidence instead of the rule chart:

    • observed against baseline, with the baseline chart;
    • signal, service, environment and deviation;
    • error-spike fingerprints;
    • links to the anomaly and its issue, plus the AI triage status.

    No threshold numbers ("≥ 2") appear anywhere for anomalies.

  • Hub.

    • The inbox gets an Anomalies view (open, resolved, all) with its own anomalyStatus param.
    • The rules list labels anomaly rules with their scope and marks the default one.
    • The unrouted default rule is not a blind spot (paging on anomalies is opt-in).
    • "New rule" has an Anomaly rule entry.
  • Routes. /anomalies redirects to the hub's Anomalies view. /anomalies/:id stays: notifications and the evidence link point there. The old list page is removed.

  • Shared kit. The chart and fingerprint rows moved to anomalies/kit/evidence.ts, used by both the incident page and the anomaly detail. The hub's hover row is now page/kit/grid-list-row.ts.

Verification

  • Web: 487 tests across alerts, anomalies, routes, lab and nav. New scene tests:
    • the editor's anomaly mode and the default-rule protections;
    • the incident evidence;
    • the hub's Anomalies view and blind spots;
    • the /anomalies redirect.
  • web-data: 163 tests.
  • Typecheck clean in web, web-data and views. Both oxlint configs, oxfmt and ui:patterns:check clean.
  • Not yet checked against a live API; the preview deploy covers that.

Stack: #2318 (anomalies page through alert rules) → #2319 (silences match anomaly labels) → #2320 (anomalies in the alerts hub) → #2323 (maintenance windows)

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • New Features
    • Added anomaly detection rules with configurable service, environment, and signal scope, plus warning and critical notification destinations.
    • The Alerts Inbox now includes anomaly incidents with status and service filters. Incident details show signal evidence, charts, and related errors or issues.
    • Added a lab for exploring anomaly rule, incident, and Inbox scenarios.
  • Updates
    • Retired the standalone anomalies list; legacy links redirect to the Inbox’s Anomalies view when supported filters can be carried over.
    • Anomaly rule details now show configuration and recent incidents, and anomaly evidence is shared across incident views.
  • Bug Fixes
    • Improved alert-rule validation and test-notification feedback, destination assignment, and accessible chip-removal labels.

The anomaly detector opened anomaly incidents that nobody could route, ack,
silence or escalate. A new `anomaly` alert signal type reads the detector's
open anomalies the way uptime and SLO rules read their sources, so every
anomaly becomes an alert incident with the normal lifecycle.

- One undeletable, unrouted default anomaly rule per org (backfilled on the
  anomaly tick) plus optional rules scoped by service, environment and signal.
- An anomaly goes to the most specific rule that covers it and has a tier at
  or below its severity; it hands over when a narrower rule qualifies.
- Incidents are keyed by the anomaly incident id, link `anomaly_incident_id`,
  reuse the anomaly's issue and triage (no second issue or triage), and store
  a `group_label` such as "checkout (production)" for every surface.
- Notifications show the anomaly sentence instead of the severity code.
- v2 API and MCP expose `anomaly_signals`, `anomaly_incident_id` and
  `group_label`.

An anomaly rule's group key is the anomaly incident id and the default rule
has no scope, so a silence on a service never muted anomalies in it. Incidents
now record labels (service, environment); silence matching prefers them over
the rule's scope and group key, at open, on reminders, on the owed page after
a silence ends and on resolves.
- The rule editor has an Anomaly mode: scope by service, environment and
  signal, and route the warning and critical tiers. The default anomaly rule
  keeps its scope and may stay unrouted.
- Anomaly incidents show the detector's evidence (observed vs baseline chart,
  signal, deviation, error-spike fingerprints, issue and triage) on the
  incident page, with no threshold numbers.
- The inbox has an Anomalies view (open, resolved, all); the rules list marks
  the default anomaly rule. /anomalies redirects there; /anomalies/:id stays.
- MCP says an anomaly rule has no query window to preview instead of
  reporting a preview that returned no series.
- iOS shows an anomaly incident's value as Warning or Critical.
- Anomaly rules reject excludeServiceNames rather than dropping it.
- The default-rule guard reads the default rule under the write lock for
  every rule write.
- Anomaly rules never take the orphan path, so a rule disabled mid-tick
  cannot send its incidents to a warehouse probe.

Test that both tiers’ destinations are merged.

The test does not set or check destinations, so it can miss a regression in leaveAnomaly. Set destinations on both tiers, including a duplicate. Switch to "builtin" and "builder_query", and assert the deduplicated destinationIds for each.

@maple-review-bot F8 is fixed in 19a6286: anomaliesHref(status) (apps/web/src/page/anomalies/detail/view.ts:44) links to /alerts?signal=anomaly for an open anomaly and adds anomalyStatus=all otherwise. The breadcrumb (line 214) passes the incident's status and the not-found "Back to anomalies" (line 184) uses all. A scene test covers both. F5 stays declined, with the reasons given earlier.

Checked at 19a62867bb and F8 is fixed — dismissing it.

  • apps/web/src/page/anomalies/detail/view.ts:44-45: anomaliesHref sends an open incident to /alerts?signal=anomaly (the view's default) and anything else to anomalyStatus=all; line 184 (not-found) and line 214 (breadcrumb, over state.incident.status) both go through it.
  • The params are real: AlertsSearch declares signal and anomalyStatus (apps/web/src/route/search.ts:513-516), resolveIncidentStatus defaults to open and honours resolved/all (apps/web/src/page/alerts/hub/derive.ts:106-107), and hubBody feeds that into anomalyInbox, which renders the resolved list whenever status !== "open" (apps/web/src/page/alerts/hub/view-anomalies.ts:206-211).
  • Tests cover both entry points: apps/web/src/page/anomalies/detail/anomaly.scene.test.ts:111-113 (not-found link href) and :299-311 (crumb href for an open and a resolved incident). A grep for "/anomalies" at the head finds no list links left, only the incident detail route and the redirect.

F5: agreed, leaving it closed. The label[for] at view-query.ts:381 points at the wrapper div at :386, which is a no-op association, but the group already carries its own accessible name (ariaLabel: "Anomaly signals", :397), so the remaining gap is only that the visible "Signals" text isn't a click target — not worth blocking the PR.

CodeRabbit outside-diff finding (incident/update.ts:374, severity codes sent as measurements): fixed in 1fb0219. For an anomaly incident the investigation snapshot now sends the detector's signal, observed value and baseline from the loaded anomaly, and sends no facts until that evidence has loaded, never "Observed: Critical" or a threshold. Scene test added.

F10 / F11 fixed in 2de40ce:

  • F10: the resolved list uses formatRelativeFrom, so a just-resolved anomaly reads "just now" (and "3h ago" otherwise) instead of "now ago".
  • F11: the test now gives the anomaly form a warning and a critical destination and asserts both land on the single remaining tier after leaving anomaly mode.
