Summary

Reusable definitions and comparison tables previously showed independently authored titles without identifying their implementation. Every definition, nested helper and table now requires a function identity generated from captured module/function/source-hash/revision evidence. Tables must reference a displayed definition with the same identity, and bound validation checks it against the captured method.

 Procedure P1: Common calculation for each case
+Function: axial.cso.py::response

 Three quantities across three cases
+Uses procedure P1: axial.cso.py::response

The table reference links to its definition in HTML and repeats in printed continuations. Identity remains visible when general source details are hidden. Import aliases and readable titles cannot replace it. The new examples/table-reuse example preserves the 3×3 results, nine downstream names, sums and revised value.

Evidence

  • Before: the paper showed “Common calculation for each case” without the original module/function; its table had no explicit procedure reference.
    After: the regenerated two-page paper prints axial.cso.py::response on both the definition and table. Both pages were visually inspected, browser layout checks passed, and the table link was exercised against its definition anchor.
  • Core package: 204 tests passed. React package: 68 tests passed. Full integration suite: 420 tests passed across 41 files.
  • Added checks reject missing identities, altered module/function/hash/revision, missing or retargeted definitions and forged helper identities. Aliased imports still print the original callable. Both orientations, empty comparisons, external methods, Boolean tables and repeated print headings are exercised.
  • Root and workspace typechecks, lint and git diff --check passed. Lint reports warnings. The wheel was rebuilt and installed into the task environment. Node checks reused cached dependencies because of limited local disk space; clean-install coverage remains for CI.
  • The example's nine renamed values and four subsequent outputs were separately checked against the documented expected values. Its formal independent-reference category remains not applicable.

Merge Danger

Door: two-way

Blast Radius: contracts

Prepared comparison documents now use version 6 with mandatory identification. Regenerate saved comparison documents from versions 3/4/5 using their retained execution and assets; changing a version string or inventing an identity is insufficient. This migration does not require rerunning Python. Plain prepared documents remain version 2, external-only documents without methods/tables remain version 4, and execution protocols retain their existing meanings. Update core and React together. Additional header content can change pagination.
