The Calico Enterprise 3.23 release notes said that support for RHEL 8 was removed in that release. No other page matched the claim, and the product still supports RHEL 8. The decision behind the note was narrower than the note itself. In January 2026, after Customer Success reported that Verisign runs about 1300 non-cluster host nodes on RHEL 8, Phil DiCorpo scoped the deprecation to cluster nodes and left the removal date open. Engineering has kept RHEL 8 working since then. EV-6705 forces the iptables data plane on RHEL 8 non-cluster hosts, and EV-6759 verified RHEL 8 again on 19 August 2026. This change drops the removal claim and the deprecation markers: - The 3.23 release note now covers only Windows 1809. - The cluster node operating system list reads RHEL 8 and RHEL 9 again, in 3.23, 3.24 EP1, 3.24 EP2, and next. The Windows 1809 removal is left as it stands. It rests on weaker evidence and needs its own decision, which DOCS-3017 tracks.
