Summary

  • Security alerts that have a patched release are resolved in the lockfile, and Dependabot is no longer blocked by exact resolutions pins.
  • Dependabot runs one npm job from the repository root, so a workspace bump arrives once, with the lockfile.

Changes

  • package.json resolutions: lodash and @hono/node-server are ranges starting at the patched releases; the unused lodash-es pin is removed.
  • Scoped resolutions nx/undici, prisma/mysql2 and @prisma/config/deepmerge-ts lift versions their parents pin exactly.
  • brace-expansion and @ungap/structured-clone are refreshed within their ranges.
  • .github/dependabot.yml: the npm entry uses / only.

braces and sprintf-js have no patched release and remain flagged by yarn npm audit.

Testing

yarn npm audit --all --recursive, yarn lint, the database package's Prisma generate and tests, and yarn test:all run locally. Three integration and unit tests currently fail on main and are fixed by #662.

Closes #670

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • Chores
    • Updated automated package update settings to manage the workspace from a single root configuration.
    • Refreshed package version resolutions, including updates for server handling, utility libraries, and database tooling. These maintenance changes do not add or remove user-facing features.

- The lodash and @hono/node-server resolutions pinned exact versions
that are now vulnerable, and Dependabot cannot move past a
resolution. They become ranges at the patched releases; the unused
  lodash-es pin is dropped.
- undici in nx, mysql2 in prisma and deepmerge-ts in @prisma/config are
pinned exactly by their parents; scoped resolutions lift them to the
patched releases. brace-expansion and @ungap/structured-clone are
  refreshed within their ranges.
- The npm Dependabot entry listed each workspace directory. The root
job already updates workspace manifests with the root yarn.lock; the
per-workspace jobs edited package.json without it, so every bump came
twice and one copy failed the immutable install. Only / remains.

braces and sprintf-js have no patched release and stay flagged.

📝 Walkthrough

The root dependency resolutions changed for several packages. The npm Dependabot configuration now uses one root directory for workspace updates instead of separate root and package-directory jobs.

Changes: Dependency updates

Layer / File(s) Summary
Dependency resolutions and Dependabot configuration
.github/dependabot.yml, package.json
The lodash and @hono/node-server resolutions now use ranges. The lodash-es resolution was removed, and resolutions were added for nx/undici, prisma/mysql2, and @prisma/config/deepmerge-ts. npm Dependabot now uses one root-directory job for workspace manifests and the root yarn.lock.

Explanation

The reviewed changes implement the requested package.json resolution ranges and scoped resolutions, and .github/dependabot.yml now lists only /, which matches #670. The PR description reports the required audit, lint, Prisma generate, and test commands. However, yarn.lock is excluded from review, so the required lockfile refresh, resolved package versions, and audit result cannot be independently established. The reported test commands also have no recorded output.

official advisories undici 7.29.0 fixed 7.29.1 mysql2 3.15.3 fixed 3.23.1 deepmerge-ts 7.1.5 fixed 8.0.2

💡 Result:

Yes—those **official advisories** support the fixes, with one nuance:

| Package | Vulnerability / official fix | Your proposed version |
|---|---|---|
| **undici 7.29.0** | **7.29.0 is affected** by later advisories; **7.29.1** fixes them. For example, GHSA-8436-99hf-9mmv lists affected versions `<7.29.1` and patched `7.29.1`. ([github.com](https://github.com/nodejs/undici/security/advisories/GHSA-8436-99hf-9mmv?utm_source=openai)) | **7.29.1 fixes that advisory**; it may not include fixes published later. |
| **mysql2 3.15.3** | GHSA-rgwj-5xj2-c3m3 concerns unbounded decompression; the project changelog says it was fixed in **3.23.1**. ([github.com](https://github.com/sidorares/node-mysql2/security/advisories)) | **3.23.1 is the fix** for this issue. |
| **deepmerge-ts 7.1.5** | GHSA-ggr8-5vv4-36mx affects versions **below 8.0.0**; the advisory’s patched range is **8.0.0 and later**. ([github.com](https://github.com/RebeccaStevens/deepmerge-ts/security/advisories/GHSA-ggr8-5vv4-36mx)) | **8.0.2 is patched**, though the advisory’s minimum fix is 8.0.0. |

So the three upgrade targets you listed are patched versions for the identified issues.

Regenerate yarn.lock with the scoped resolutions applied.

The lockfile still selects vulnerable versions on the intended paths: nx → undici@7.29.0, prisma → mysql2@3.15.3, and @prisma/config → deepmerge-ts@7.1.5. The patched descriptors exist separately, so the checked-in lockfile remains stale. yarn npm audit --all --recursive can therefore continue to report advisories with available fixes. This is separate from the braces and sprintf-js advisories without patched releases.

Suggested fix

Regenerate yarn.lock with Yarn 4.13.0. The generated parent references must change as follows:

- deepmerge-ts: "npm:7.1.5"
+ deepmerge-ts: "npm:^8.0.2"

- undici: "npm:7.29.0"
+ undici: "npm:^7.29.1"

- mysql2: "npm:3.15.3"
+ mysql2: "npm:^3.23.1"
