Outcome

Implement generic progress, terminal results, and cooperative cancellation by extending R5's operation registry. A6 owns the first real Agent lifecycle exchange; R20 imports that behavior into Provider CI.

Required behavior

• Enforce canonical transitions, monotonic sequences, bounded replay, immutable terminal outcomes, typed result validation, and sanitized errors.
• Distinguish cancellation requested from execution stopped and resolve terminal races deterministically.
• Observer cancellation, deadlines, transport loss, and health changes must not implicitly stop business execution.
• Use exact Protocol and Provider wheels over the real Unix socket. Do not simulate an Agent.

Acceptance

Focused tests cover progress, cursor gaps, late replay, slow observers, terminal results, failures, cancellation races, shutdown, and no redispatch. Full installed-Agent verification waits for A6 and R20.
