I'm an IT professional building practical projects and home labs to develop hands-on skills in Windows Server infrastructure, networking, virtualisation, automation and Microsoft Azure.

Hybrid Azure Infrastructure Lab

Extending my completed Windows Server enterprise lab into Microsoft Azure - exploring hybrid networking, identity integration, Azure administration, centralised monitoring, cloud storage, security and infrastructure automation.

  • Deploy, configure and administer Azure Windows Server infrastructure and networking.
  • Integrate on-premises Active Directory with Microsoft Entra ID using Cloud Sync.
  • Manage and monitor hybrid Windows Server infrastructure using Azure Arc and Azure Monitor.
  • Implement Azure storage, patch management, backup and recovery.
  • Automate infrastructure deployment and administration using PowerShell and Bicep.
  • Validate infrastructure functionality through troubleshooting and recovery scenarios.

Windows Server 2025 Enterprise-Style Infrastructure Lab

A multi-server Windows infrastructure lab built on Hyper-V, simulating resilient networking, identity, file services, automation, backup and monitoring for a small organisation.

Technologies:

Windows Server 2025 Hyper-V RRAS Active Directory DNS DHCP Group Policy Windows LAPS PowerShell SMB/NTFS Windows Admin Center Windows Event Forwarding

What I've Built:

  • Built a segmented multi-server Hyper-V environment with RRAS routing, NAT and DHCP relay.
  • Deployed redundant Active Directory, DNS and DHCP services, including AD replication and DHCP failover.
  • Implemented Group Policy, Windows LAPS, SMB file services and AGDLP-based least-privilege access control.
  • Implemented Windows Server backup procedures, tested file, Group Policy and Active Directory object recovery, and automated infrastructure configuration backups.
  • Deployed a management server for centralised administration, monitoring, security auditing and Windows Event Forwarding.
  • Automated infrastructure health checks, user lifecycle administration, configuration backup and operational reporting with PowerShell.
