Aero Linux is an Arch Linux live ISO with a KDE Plasma desktop. The profile tracks Arch's official archiso releng profile and uses the AeroLayen global theme by default.
The default boot entry uses the signed linux-aero-bore kernel from the SecureNode package repository. The stock Arch kernel remains available in every local boot menu as a fallback. The live desktop includes a custom Calamares installer using Aero configuration and the standard Arch Linux logo.
Build on an up-to-date Arch Linux system:
sudo pacman -Syu archiso
sudo ./build.shThe build script imports and locally trusts the pinned Aero package signing key before invoking mkarchiso. The ISO is written to out/. Build directories and images are ignored by Git.
Test the result in both BIOS and UEFI modes:
run_archiso -i out/aero-linux-*.iso
run_archiso -u -i out/aero-linux-*.isoCheck Plasma autologin, NetworkManager, audio, the complete Calamares install flow in both BIOS and UEFI, the BORE and stock-kernel boot entries, and accessibility before publishing a release. In a BORE session, verify:
uname -r
sysctl kernel.sched_boreAlso confirm that System Settings lists AeroLayen as the global theme, the
Aero wallpaper is selected, and pacman -Q aero-desktop-theme succeeds.
The kernel release should end in -aero-bore, and kernel.sched_bore should equal 1.
Double-check the target device. This command destroys everything on it.
./write-usb.sh out/aero-linux-*.iso /dev/sdXThe current profile was rebased on Arch Linux archiso commit f900196af8f293ec7e4ef452b368b9db8012d79f. Aero-specific changes cover branding, Plasma, the live user, NetworkManager, Plasma Login Manager, and the BORE kernel integration.
Kernel, AeroLayen, and installer package sources and build automation live at https://github.com/securenode/aero-packages. Third-party sources are pinned to SecureNode mirrors; upstream authorship and licenses remain preserved in the packages.
The profile is available under GPL-3.0-or-later. See LICENSE.
