This forward-ports ruby/ruby@ae8b82c7dc from ruby/ruby#19010, which removed leftover code for platforms Ruby no longer supports. The
Resolv::Hostsplatform check still matchedbccwin, but Ruby 2.3 dropped Borland C. The commit keeps its original author and date, andlib/resolv.rbis now identical to ruby/ruby.Behavior on supported platforms is unchanged. The
cygwinandmingwentries and the JRubyhost_oscheck stay as they are. I ranbundle exec rake teston mswin, where this branch loadswin32/resolv, and it passed.Generated with Claude Code
