Not sure if this is the correct place, but could someone please inform oracle that they have to link towards
libaio.so.1t64.0.2 and not libaio.so.1 because deb no longer softlinks it.
Just updated to latest installclient 23.26.3.0.0 and libaio 0.3.113.9 on ubuntu 26.04LTS
and I get this error:
oracledb.exceptions.DatabaseError: DPI-1047: Cannot locate a 64-bit Oracle Client library: "libaio.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory". See https://python-oracledb.readthedocs.io/en/latest/user_guide/initialization.html for help
Help: https://python-oracledb.readthedocs.io/en/latest/user_guide/troubleshooting.html#dpi-1047
The issue is that latest libaio in debian do not install the libaio.so.1 or softlink it anymore
http://ftp.debian.org/debian/pool/main/liba/libaio/libaio1t64_0.3.113-9_amd64.deb
This fixes it:
cd /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu; sudo ln -s libaio.so.1t64.0.2 libaio.so.1
