in my case i only want to use the VPN with a very small number of apps, primarily the web browser

the problem is that i would then need to disable the VPN for all other apps, including system apps, and this is rather cumbersome, plus any new app i install will be VPN'd

i'd prefer a solution where one could operate split tunneling in a whitelist/blacklist manner, where either all apps are tunneled by default, or not tunneled by default
