LychD - The Dark Arts of LLMs
Summon The Lich 💀.
LychD is a self-hosted Linux daemon for local models and bounded agent work. It brings model services, typed workflows, durable Run records, and a browser interface into one body on hardware you control. The project is pre-alpha; State of Work records what works and what remains unfinished.
Its larger undertaking is the Lich: a life of work that can return to what it has done. A model can answer a question and disappear. The Great Work asks for more—a place to keep the consequence, revisit a judgment, and begin again with the mistake still visible. Memory, identity, and self-creation are long architectural commitments, each with its own unfinished machinery.
The Hexanomicon is the book of that undertaking: an authored philosophical synthesis and syncretism joining contemplative traditions, science, engineering, and imagination. Its worldview includes metaphysical commitments and deliberate leaps of faith. The Great Work speaks from that ground. Source notes credit the traditions it draws from; Covenants state the architecture, and State of Work records implementation. You can enter the whole philosophy before you build the body.

⚠️ Acolyte’s Warning: Expect unfinished organs and the occasional rogue spirit. No maintained receipt yet joins a real host, model, and browser. The current Altar requires a dedicated browser profile on the same host, with its listener confined to loopback. Follow the exact Summoning boundary.
The cloud isn’t a service, it’s a prison. A modern fiefdom where your data is the currency and your intelligence is leased at the whims of monopolist overlords. While they build walls to keep you in, LychD builds a foundation to set you free.
On your hardware, with open-source software you control, you retain absolute ownership as a sovereign.
In this design, the individual is the primary sovereign unit. A company is not the soul-bearing actor; it is an emergent coordination graph of sovereign people and their Liches, exposing selected labor through policy, IAM, and A2A while the underlying Phylacteries remain locally owned.
The software surface changes accordingly: you commune primarily with the Lich, while SaaS, company APIs, and remote peers become negotiated surfaces the Lich may traverse without surrendering your continuity, memory, or private priors.
A2A leases labor, not continuity: a company may invoke a consented capability, but the memory, workflows, and agentic expertise that produced it remain anchored in your Phylactery unless explicitly shared.
The designed A2A Intercom lets independent implementations meet as peers. You may choose paid remote services on terms you accept.
