Doc-only staleness pass after slice 005 (PR #19). KCDC is over; the talk will be given again at user groups and conferences, and the repo keeps being updated between runs the way slice 005 was. No code, no scenario, and no count moved. Every number in README and CLAUDE.md was re-checked against the code: 2,405 / 2,002 and 1,000 / 841 lines, 35 contract scenarios per twin, 19 after-twin facts.

CLAUDE.md

  • Mode. The v1.1 "no new slices" paragraph is now a living-talk mode. A build item is Erik's call: it starts from a talk-side hand-off, gets its docs/slices/ spec first, and runs OpenSpec end to end. Everything else is dry-run support, fixes, and doc accuracy. The deadline is the next delivery, not KCDC.
  • Version freeze stands between runs: a security patch or Erik's call.
  • Non-negotiable 9 (new). A new NOT NULL column on an after-twin table carries a database default; without one the startup schema migration drops and recreates the table (what emptied after.orders during slice 005).
  • Commands name WolverineHostGate for new test hosts and add a before-a-live-run checklist gathered from earlier build-log entries (compose reset, image pre-pull, stale processes on the ports, codegen write captures outside the project).
  • Slice 005 gets a RESOLVED line, a "Where detail lives" pointer, and its three open calls under Open items: (c) the after twin's transaction held across the Tendr call, (d) Tendr.Tests in the slnx, (e) 11 / 8 or 9 / 8 on a slide.
  • Fixed references: jasperfx-research.md moved to research/blogs/; the CritterMart path was Windows-only; the template experiment is no longer the inventory's final section.
  • Dashes. The file's six em dashes are gone, and the talk-content rule now keeps new repo text free of em and en dashes (older build-log entries keep theirs as history).

README

  • The talk is described as first given at KCDC and headed for more events; Tendr is named as the post-KCDC addition. Slides and recording are "linked once published".
  • Quick start mentions the per-twin Tendr host and the two extra test projects.
  • The HTTP contract section gains the two request bodies (including card: { number }) and a link to Tendr's test cards.
  • Contributing says "the DbContext as a method parameter" where it still said "session" from the Marten days.

Also

  • openspec/config.yaml: context and task rules match the living-talk mode (the next slice takes the next number, README and CLAUDE.md in the bookkeeping, Tendr in the definition of done).
  • AGENTS.md: highlights no longer promise the schedule fallbacks.
  • Directory.Packages.props: freeze header says what CLAUDE.md says (comment only).
  • LayerCake.slnx: docs/slices/004 added as a solution item (flagged 2026-09-14).
  • docs/build-log.md: one doc-only entry.

Left for a follow-up: the comment in .github/workflows/ci.yml still says only "No PostgreSQL service" (flagged 2026-09-05); it should also name rabbitmq:4, the per-twin Tendr host, and Tendr.Tests. It is out of this PR because pushing under .github/workflows/ needs a token with the workflow scope.

Verification

  • dotnet build: 0 warnings, 0 errors.
  • Both edited YAML files parse.
  • A grep for em and en dashes counts 0 in README.md, CLAUDE.md, AGENTS.md, openspec/config.yaml, Directory.Packages.props, and LayerCake.slnx, and for the added build-log line.
  • dotnet test not run: no code changed. CI runs it on this PR.

KCDC is over, the talk will be given again at user groups and
conferences, and the repo keeps being updated between runs the way
slice 005 was. Doc-only; no code, no scenario, no count moved.

CLAUDE.md: the v1.1 "no new slices" mode becomes a living-talk mode
(a build item by Erik's call from a talk-side hand-off and a
docs/slices spec through OpenSpec; otherwise dry-run support, fixes,
doc accuracy). The deadline is the next delivery. The version freeze
stands between runs. New non-negotiable 9: a new NOT NULL after-twin
column carries a database default, or the startup migration drops the
table. Commands name WolverineHostGate and add a before-a-live-run
checklist. Slice 005 gets a RESOLVED line, a detail pointer, and its
three open calls. Fixed references: the moved jasperfx-research.md,
the Windows-only CritterMart path, and the template experiment no
longer called the inventory's final section. Em dashes removed.

README: the talk is first given at KCDC and still touring, Quick start
mentions the per-twin Tendr and the extra test projects, the contract
section gains the two request bodies and a link to the test cards,
and Contributing says DbContext where it still said session.

Also: AGENTS.md highlights, openspec/config.yaml context and task
rules, the Directory.Packages.props freeze header, docs/slices/004 as
a solution item in LayerCake.slnx, and a build-log entry. The stale CI
workflow comment is left for a follow-up (pushing under
.github/workflows needs a token with the workflow scope).
