C# mode officially discontinued

Now that csharp mode has landed in-tree I think it's a good time to halt development here.

I hope we all can direct bugs to the emacs bugtracker going forward.

Only very critical fixes will go in this codebase for backwards compatibility. Thanks all 🤗

Maybe I'm missing something... But I see that tree-sitter has landed in tree in Emacs git master. But I don't see (a) csharp-mode there yet?

Got any leads to where I should be looking? 😄

Are you possibly conflating this with Typescript mode?

(I finally have some spare time and are in the process of testing our "new" csharp-mode now btw)

Nope, It is merged, but Yuan probaby hasn't pushed it on his end. Just use the one in the other repo - I reverted :)

I am trying to get tree-sitter working on emacs 29 but I am not getting syntax highlighting from it.

Any idea how to get it working ?

Start by deleting this package.

Then you need tree sitter installed on your system, as well as the libtree-sitter-c-sharp.so in a path Emacs can find it. For example ~/.emacs.d/tree-sitter.

Then run csharp-ts-mode inside a c# file.

I'll add proper instructions in the readme later, but this will hopefully get you going!
