I'm not sure about this because I think for the platform semantic versioning is still useful. How can we signal API breaks with this system? |

Actually I don't insist on this change, just a random thought came up with when I saw the discussion about OS release version. I'll discard this PR if there is some concern I couldn't consider or if I get negative feedback from other desktop developers too. |
