Updates i18next from 26.4.2 to 26.4.4

Release notes

Sourced from i18next's releases.

v26.4.4

  • fix(security): the nesting regexp no longer backtracks exponentially (ReDoS) on an unclosed $t(. Its repeated group had overlapping alternatives ([^()"']+ inside (?:...)*?, and inside parentheses [^()] also matched quotes), so a string containing $t( without a closing ) made the engine try every way to split the text: about 2x the runtime per extra character, and a ~25 character value hung t() for minutes. With the default config this was reachable through any interpolated value (t('greet', { name: '$t(aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa' })): escaping does not touch $, t or (, and the skipOnVariables check runs the regexp on the interpolated result, so nest: false did not help either. Every alternative now starts with a different character (plain char, ", ' or (), so there is only one way to match and the cost is linear. Quoted strings and one level of parentheses in nesting options keep working (#2336). The only difference: a lone " or ' inside unquoted parentheses within $t(...) is no longer matched. Affects 25.3.3 to 26.4.3. Thanks to Anisetti Chaitanya Eshwar Prasad for the responsible disclosure.
  • fix(security): nest() now resolves $t(...) in a single pass and no longer nests text that came out of a resolved value. Every nested lookup reset the shared nesting regexp, so the loop started over from the beginning of the string after each match. That had two effects. First, a $t(...) inside a variable that the nested lookup deliberately kept literal (default skipOnVariables: true) was resolved anyway by the outer loop: with outer: 'A $t(inner) B' and inner: 'Hi {{name}}', t('outer', { name: '$t(secret)' }) rendered the secret translation. It now stays A Hi $t(secret) B, the same as without the outer nesting; with skipOnVariables: false it is still resolved. Second, the cost was quadratic when an unclosed $t( preceded many nestings, which matters when an app passes untrusted input as the key itself (t(userInput)): 20,000 nestings took ~1.4 s, now ~25 ms. The resolved value is now sliced into the result instead of going through String.replace, so $&, $`, $' and $$ stay literal as before (26.4.2).

v26.4.3

  • perf: ResourceStore.hasLanguageSomeTranslations() no longer enumerates every key of a large bundle on each call. It ran Object.keys() on the whole bundle just to learn whether it had at least one key, and init() / changeLanguage() reach it three times per instance (once while picking the language, twice via setResolvedLanguage()). With large flat bundles and one i18next instance per SSR request reusing the same resources, that showed up as measurable CPU work before any t() call. Bundle objects already found non-empty are now remembered in a WeakSet shared across instances, so later checks are O(1): 2,000 inits with a 6,800-key bundle went from ~750 ms to ~20 ms, the same as a one-key bundle. Only the non-empty result is cached. No API removes single keys from a bundle, so a non-empty bundle stays non-empty, and empty bundles are re-checked every time, so keys added later (backend loads, addResource, addResourceBundle, direct or silent changes) count right away. The only edge case: a bundle emptied by hand with delete on every key while it is still in the store keeps counting as having translations; use removeResourceBundle() for that. Thanks @dmchoi77 for the detailed report (#2449).

Updates react-i18next from 17.0.15 to 17.0.16

Changelog

Sourced from react-i18next's changelog.

17.0.16

  • fix(Trans): a selector i18nKey that points into a secondary namespace of useTranslation now resolves the same way t() does. With const { t } = useTranslation(['ns1', 'ns2']), t($ => $.ns2.message) works since 17.0.7, but <Trans t={t} i18nKey={$ => $.ns2.message} /> rendered the raw key (or its children). Trans always passed an ns option to t, filled from t.ns (the primary namespace only), and an explicit ns makes i18next's fixed t skip the hook's full namespace list (scopeNs). When Trans or TransWithoutContext gets a t that carries its own namespace and no ns prop, it now leaves ns out and lets that t apply its own. String keys, keyPrefix, nsMode: 'fallback', an explicit ns prop and Trans without a t prop behave as before. Compatibility note: if the primary namespace has a nested object named like a secondary namespace (ns1 → ns2.message), Trans now resolves $ => $.ns2.message to ns2:message, as t() already does. Fixes #1933.

Updates @tauri-apps/cli from 2.11.5 to 2.12.2

Release notes

Sourced from @tauri-apps/cli's releases.

@tauri-apps/cli v2.12.2

[2.12.2]

Bug Fixes

  • c48e1ca89 (#16246) On iOS, mark the Swift @_cdecl entry points that Rust links against as public (in the iOS API and in the plugin templates), so release builds made with Xcode 27 keep them global and link.

Dependencies

  • Upgraded to tauri-cli@2.12.2
  • fd319dd43 Update base64 to 0.23.

@tauri-apps/cli v2.12.1

[2.12.1]

Enhancements

Dependencies

  • Upgraded to tauri-cli@2.12.1

@tauri-apps/cli v2.12.0

[2.12.0]

New Features

  • f6c1eb253 (#15401) Added bundle.windows.bundleVCRuntime to copy the Visual C++ runtime DLLs into Windows MSI and NSIS installers. The bundler locates the runtime through VCTOOLS_REDIST_DIR or the bundled vswhere.exe.

  • f76b1d3ae (#15644) The bundler now prints the size of each generated bundle next to its path in the Finished N bundles at: output (directories such as macOS .app bundles are measured recursively).

  • af465eae1 (#15619) Add a --no-binary-patching flag to tauri build and tauri bundle. When set, the bundler skips patching the main executable with bundle type information (and the subsequent re-signing), leaving an already-signed binary untouched. Patching is only required when shipping multiple bundle types per platform that should each update with their own installer format.

  • 0646cc162 (#15620) Add a --fit option to tauri icon to accept non-square source images. --fit cover center-crops the source to a square (clipping the longer side) and --fit contain pads the shorter side with transparency. Non-square sources without --fit keep erroring, now with a hint pointing to the flag.

  • f6c1eb253 (#15401) Added build.windows.staticVCRuntime to control MSVC static runtime linking. The STATIC_VCRUNTIME environment variable is now deprecated and emits a migration warning when used.

  • f45ec0dcf Record the app version in the trusted comment of updater signatures, so a signed artifact is bound to the version it was released as.

    An update endpoint response is not signed, and the signature only covers the downloaded artifact, so the announced version on its own does not prove which release the url and signature point at. minisign covers the trusted comment with its global signature, which lets the updater plugin compare the two and reject a response that pairs a version number with a different release. Enable requireSignedVersion in the updater plugin configuration to enforce this.

    tauri build fills the version in automatically, and tauri plugin add updater now enables requireSignedVersion for the project it is adding the plugin to. tauri signer sign gains an --app-version flag for signing updater artifacts by hand, and warns when it is omitted.

Enhancements

  • e19121427 (#15993) Don't always rewrite Cargo.toml file from CRLF line endings to LF

  • aebf38c84 (#15694) Migrate the Android Gradle scripts from the deprecated kotlinOptions DSL to compilerOptions, which is accepted by both Kotlin Gradle Plugin 1.9.x and 2.x. This lets projects move to Kotlin 2.x without hitting the hard error that 2.3+ raises on the old DSL.

    This increased the minimum supported Gradle version to 8.13, if your gradle is on an earlier version, delete src-tauri/gen/android/gradle/wrapper/gradle-wrapper.properties and re-run tauri android init to update it.

  • d89d8fa62 (#15780) Warn during Android commands (init/dev/build) when the active Java version is too new for the Gradle version the project uses (e.g. Java 27 against the Gradle 9.6.1 the template ships, or Java 25 against a project still on Gradle 8.14), instead of letting the build fail later with a cryptic error. The warning points to the Gradle/Java compatibility matrix and suggests a supported JDK.

  • c3d21bd60 (#15730) Use Theme.Material3.DayNight.NoActionBar instead of Theme.MaterialComponents.DayNight.NoActionBar when running tauri android init

  • f654f470c (#15862) Update template to use targetSdk = 37

  • cdaf7eab6 (#15765) Clarify that the tauri init frontend commands run before tauri dev and tauri build, and can be left empty when they are not needed.

  • d0f38df06 (#15997) When stdin is not a terminal, tauri init now automatically skips prompts, avoiding IO errors in CI and scripts. This eliminates the need to pass --ci explicitly in non-interactive environments.

TypeScript 7.0.2 is the native preview whose compiler API surface
changed; packages/plugin-build extracts export names with the
classic ts.* helpers and no longer typechecks against it. Keep
the other dependency updates in this PR and hold typescript on
5.9.3 until the toolchain supports TS 7.

Looks like these dependencies are updatable in another way, so this is no longer needed.
