📝 WalkthroughWalkthroughThe synchronous and asynchronous client factories now accept ChangesConnection keyword forwarding
Priority: ⬇️ Low Estimated code review effort: 2 (Simple) | ~10 minutes Change: Feature Suggested reviewers: Merge Risk: 🔵 Low · up to Connection options now reach psycopg as intended. However, passing connection identity keys such as dbname through connection_kwargs lets a test use a database outside the fixture's cleanup. This requires a deliberate override, so the change is mergeable with a small follow-up to reject or document those keys. Security Architecture ReviewSecurity architecture risk: 🟡 Moderate · up to Connection options are useful for customization, but they can also direct a test connection to a different database while setup and cleanup still target the configured test database. This could expose credentials or leave changes outside the fixture’s cleanup boundary. The risk depends on how callers supply those options. Retained concerns

Hi, this is my first contribution here. Could you approve the workflow runs? I've verified the two new tests pass locally. |

- Line 113: Update both client factories to reject dbname, host, port, or user
in connection_kwargs before merging it with connect_kwargs. Keep the
janitor-managed connection identity consistent in both synchronous and
asynchronous clients.

Description
Adds a
connection_kwargsparameter tofactories.postgresql()andfactories.postgresql_async(), forwarded topsycopg.connect()/AsyncConnection.connect()when the test connection is opened. This letscallers set connection options such as
row_factorywithout an autouseworkaround:
Tests cover both the sync and async factories, and a towncrier newsfragment
and README example are included.
Closes #1418
Summary by CodeRabbit
connection_kwargsrejects the identity keys managed by the fixtures(
dbname, user, host, port) to preserve the janitor's connectionisolation, with parametrized tests for each across both factories.
