Merge the final v0.1.8 promotion commit back into dev, preserving the merge-commit operating policy and making future development descend from the release commit.
The branch trees are identical; this PR changes history only. Use a merge commit after CI passes. Official publication runs separately from main at 6d4e12f, including the Unix PTY initialization fix.
