Latest versions of the kernel (4.6) seem to work well (no screen flicker and Synaptics palm detection works).
Install from http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/drm-intel-nightly/current/ You may need to install some intel graphics drivers from https://01.org/linuxgraphics/downloads/skylake-guc-6.1
Use synclient to configure touchpad palm detection.
