ReForge Material Editor

Standalone node-based PBR material authoring tool for Ray-MMD ReForge. Built in Rust with egui and the glow backend, it runs as a native Windows desktop application without an external runtime.

Features

  • Blender-style node graph for building physical material networks.
  • Single Material Sandbox with raymarched sphere, cube, cylinder, plane, and Utah teapot previews.
  • PMX Model Studio for staging full characters and editing material subsets.
  • Direct 3D viewport picking through color-coded ID buffers.
  • ShaderMap synthesis for normal, ambient occlusion, height, roughness, metalness, cavity, curvature, noise, hair strands, eye cornea parallax, RNM blending, and channel packing.
  • Multi-core batch Auto-PBR that builds complete networks for every subset in a model.
  • Unified .rfproj project files for full character sessions and .rfmat files for graph exchange.
  • Built-in guided tour, quick start wizard, and keyboard shortcuts reference on F1.

Requirements

  • Windows 10 or 11.
  • Rust 1.85 or newer when building from source. The crate uses the 2024 edition.
