Sudden exit when scanning file with one encode in progress

Problem Description

After completing 3 encodes I decided to redo 2 of them.
I edited the 1st and started the encode,
but when I tried to edit the 2nd, nothing happened for a few seconds, and then VidCoder abruptly closed.
There was no crash event in System Events.
