Oleafly

Oleafly is a free, open-source desktop app for research writing. You write LaTeX, Typst or Markdown with the compiled PDF beside your source, and the rest of the paper's work happens in the same window: finding and citing sources, drawing figures, checking a submission, and handing a section to an AI assistant or a coding agent when you want the help. Co-authors can edit with you in real time through a server your group runs. Every project is still an ordinary folder on your computer, so your work never depends on us.

Write together, live Named cursors, threaded comments and as many co-authors as you need, on an Oleafly Server your group runs. Offline edits merge when you reconnect.	Three formats, no setup LaTeX, Typst and Markdown in one app. Tectonic, Typst and Pandoc come bundled, so there's no TeX install.	AI you choose A key for one of 10 providers, a local model through Ollama, or one of 14 CLI agents such as Claude Code and Codex. Every edit arrives as a diff you review.
Find and cite Search arXiv, Semantic Scholar, Crossref, PubMed and OpenAlex at once. Cite from Zotero, BibTeX or RIS as you type.	Research Tasks Give an agent a brief. It works in its own copy of the project while you keep writing, and you apply what you like.
