Open the password login on double-click without breaking gf launches - #24
Client Creator no longer asks for an entry mode. Every patched client now behaves like this:
Started with no arguments (double-click): opens the username and password login (EntwellNostaleClient).
Started with gf <N> and _NC_AUTH_CODE (the Auth tab's Sign in & launch): auth-code login, exactly as before.
Closed from a double-click launch: exits cleanly, with no EOSError 1400.
PatchAllowNoArg, PatchDefaultToEntwell, PatchForceEntwell and EntryPatchMode are replaced by a single ClientPatcher.PatchNoArgToPasswordLogin.
How
The startup code exits when ParamCount - 1 < 0 (JL rel32). The patch keeps that jump conditional and only changes its target, to the body shared by every login mode. That body is 34 bytes after the existing EntwellNostaleClient compare anchor. With no argument, the Steam and GF flags are still zero (BSS) when the jump lands, so the body picks the password login. With any argument the jump is not taken, so the steam / gf / EntwellNostaleClient dispatch runs unmodified. Only 4 bytes change.
Why the old default mode crashed on exit
It jumped over Copy(ParamStr(1), 1, 20) after that call's result pointer had already been pushed. Copy is the routine that pops it (ret 4), so skipping it left the stack 4 bytes off for the rest of the program. At exit, the program's outer try/finally then restored a bogus exception frame. A shutdown exception that is normally handled became an unhandled EOSError.
Verified on Windows (current client, real GPU, NosCore stack running)
Run
Result
This branch, no arguments, ×3
Password form opens, admin/test reaches character select. Quit gives exit code 0, no dialog, nothing in the event log.
This branch, gf 0 + auth code, ×3
No password form, straight to the server list and character select.
Old default mode, no arguments, ×3
Login works. Quit hangs on a black screen, then crashes (0xC0000409 / 0xC0000005). A CEF helper process dies with 0x0EEDFADE (unhandled Delphi exception).
The gf 0 launches crash silently on quit (0xC0000005 at exe+0x4daf). The old build does exactly the same in gf mode, and that path runs no patched bytes, so this PR doesn't change it. It is worth its own investigation, possibly in the noscore_gf.dll stub.
No local build was run in the authoring environment; CI covers the build.
Replace the three Client Creator entry modes with one patch: the argc
check's JL now targets the body shared by every login mode instead of
the exit path. A launch without arguments reaches it with the Steam and
GF flags zero, which is the password login; launches with an argument
never take the jump, so gf <N> keeps the auth-code login.
The old default mode jumped over Copy(ParamStr(1), 1, 20) after its
result pointer had been pushed. Copy pops it (ret 4), so the stack was
left 4 bytes off and the program's outer try/finally restored a bogus
exception frame, which surfaced as EOSError 1400 on exit.

Walkthrough
The client patcher replaces configurable entry-patch modes with a patch that retargets the no-argument argc check to the shared password-login body. The Client Creator always applies this patch after server-address rewriting. The UI and saved settings no longer expose the mode selector. README describes the launch paths and wrapper DLL setup.
The patcher removes the entry-patch modes and adds PatchNoArgToPasswordLogin, which finds the login body and argc check and retargets the jump. README describes the no-argument password-login path, argument launch behavior, and wrapper DLL setup.
Apply patch from Client Creator src/NosCore.DeveloperTools/Forms/MainForm.cs, src/NosCore.DeveloperTools/Models/AppSettings.cs
The Client Creator removes the mode selector and saved setting. After the server-address patch succeeds, it applies PatchNoArgToPasswordLogin and stops if that patch fails.
NosCoreIO/NosCore.DeveloperTools#18: This PR relocated ClientPatcher and introduced EntryPatchMode; the current PR changes that patching contract and removes the mode-based flow.

A truncated executable can cause an unhandled exception while patching, but no output is written and selecting a valid executable avoids the failure. Merge risk is low; add the localized bounds check.

Add a byte-level test for the 0F 8C jump rewrite in PatchNoArgToPasswordLogin.
No test covers PatchNoArgToPasswordLogin, and the repository has no test project. A later edit that replaces the conditional 0F 8C jump with an unconditional jump would not be detected by any test in the repository. Gf launches would then skip their dispatch.
A synthetic byte buffer can exercise the method without the client executable:
Build a 128-byte buffer.
Place the 30-byte login-body pattern at offset 0. Fill its ? wildcard positions with any byte.
Place the argc-check pattern at offset 64. The 0F 8C opcode then occupies offsets 75 and 76.
Call PatchNoArgToPasswordLogin on the buffer, then assert the following:
Bytes 75 and 76 still equal 0F 8C.
Bytes 77 to 80, the rel32 at jlOffset + 2, equal D1 FF FF FF. This value is 34 − (75 + 6) = −47 in little-endian.
Every other byte is unchanged.
The test needs a new test project, because the repository has none.
