The confidence path cannot be turned on from a real config in this PR. DSparkDecodingConfig has none of enable_confidence_scheduling, enable_fused_confidence_scheduler, confidence_sps_table_path, or confidence_sts_path; the worker reads the first via getattr(..., False) so production always takes the disabled path, and the other three are read as plain attributes inside _build_verify_planner, so the first time the flag is added the planner build raises AttributeError. The NOTE block and class docstring in tensorrt_llm/llmapi/llm_args.py (around line 3349) still describe the head as truncating the proposed prefix and say the knobs are "intentionally omitted". Please either add the fields in this PR (with the golden-manifest regeneration that implies) or make the description explicit that scoring is unreachable until the follow-up, and update that NOTE either way.
Two things in the diff are not covered by the description:
_draft_gen_block_batchednow computes each request's base offset fromspec_metadata.qo_indptrwheneververify_lensis set. That is independent of the confidence flag and changes the live gen-draft path whenever ragged verification is active (the_publish_policy_window_outputplumbing from #19818 can already set it). It looks like a genuine fix for a stride bug, but it deserves its own sentence and ideally its own commit; right now it is only reachable through a direct call test.- The summary mentions the STS sampler clearing per-request state across verification steps, but no sampler code is in this diff.
The accessor surface added to DSv4DSparkWorker (staged_confidence_buffer, bump_draft_seq, confidence_row_for, verified_draft_seq_cuda, batch_slot_view, confidence_stamp_buffer) and verify_planner have no callers anywhere in the repo, and _build_verify_planner logs that it defers the SPS table but never attaches a cost table to the planner. That is fine as staging if the follow-up is close, but it means the stamp protocol described in the docstrings is untested end to end here; a unit test that drives bump_draft_seq plus the stamp write and checks verified_draft_seq_cuda() against the written stamp would pin the contract before the consumer lands.
Docs: no user-visible flags are added, so nothing is owed in docs/ yet, but the stale llm_args.py NOTE should not survive this PR.

Summary
Adds calibrated DSpark confidence scoring and request-slot ownership to the speculative worker, building on the merged ragged-attention, KV/runtime-metadata and verification-policy changes.
The scorer reads pre-normalization proposal hidden states without changing proposal logits or RNG consumption. Persistent slot-indexed logits and producer stamps distinguish live requests, stale snapshots and CUDA-graph padding; warmup restores both buffers together. Optional checkpoint projection bias is retained during embedded draft loading.
The worker also gathers generation hidden states and absolute positions using the packed ragged offsets, including a context-token prefix. Only padding/scratch rows use a placeholder; invalid real-request indices are not clamped onto another request's data. This correction applies independently of confidence scoring.
This PR stages scoring and worker state. It adds no user-facing confidence scheduling/calibration flags: compact graph execution, cost-table binding and runtime policy activation follow in the dependent changes. Confidence-disabled execution retains full-block native drafting and standard target verification.
Validation
Applicable tests in a configured Linux TRT-LLM development environment:
pytest tests/unittest/_torch/speculative/hw_agnostic/test_dspark_heads.py \ tests/unittest/_torch/speculative/hw_agnostic/test_dspark_draft.py \ tests/unittest/_torch/speculative/hw_agnostic/test_dspark_worker.py \ tests/unittest/_torch/speculative/hw_agnostic/test_dspark_worker_confidence_state.py \ tests/unittest/_torch/speculative/hw_agnostic/test_dspark_sts.py \ tests/unittest/_torch/speculative/hw_agnostic/test_dspark_confidence_routing.pyPR Checklist
PR description explains the scoring/state scope and dependent activation boundary.
Changes follow the TRT-LLM coding guidelines.
Tests cover scoring, slot ownership, producer stamps and packed generation gathers; native and integration validation is distinct from the focused CPU checks above.
No new public configuration fields or dependencies are introduced.
Review covers speculative decoding, embedded draft loading and runtime ownership.
Please check this after reviewing the above items as appropriate for this PR.
Dev Engineer Review
DSpark now proposes the full draft block and returns optional per-position confidence logits instead of truncating proposals by a confidence threshold. The confidence head can score a separate hidden-state tensor and apply STS temperatures. The worker gathers confidence inputs using ragged offsets and positions, and tracks confidence logits by request slot with producer stamps. Warmup restores both buffers.
The worker also adds STS loading and confidence-head resolution. The weight loaders support optional confidence projection bias. These changes alter draft and head APIs. Verify callers use the new signatures and preserve the intended pre-normalization scoring, proposal logits, and RNG behavior. Confidence-disabled drafting and standard target verification remain available. Compact graph execution, cost-table binding, and runtime policy activation are deferred.
The change affects runtime behavior and configuration documentation, but the supplied summary reports no changes to configuration field, validator, or telemetry policy definitions. The supplied evidence reports focused CPU checks, but not native CUDA-graph replay, full-model integration, or repository CI results.
QA Engineer Review
The change adds or updates tests in
tests/unittest/_torch/speculative/hw_agnostic/. Coverage includes confidence calibration and routing, full-block proposals, STS validation, ragged offsets and positions, slot ownership and recycling, warmup restoration, and optional checkpoint bias. The supplied objectives report 101 focused CPU/source-method cases. They also report regression controls for clamp/padding, stamp restoration, and biased loading. No test-list changes are identified in the supplied change summary. The shell search found
test_dspark_v41.pyin fourtest-dbCI lists. It found no matching entries for the other changed test files. The reported CPU coverage is useful, but native graph replay and full-model integration remain unverified. Coverage verdict: needs follow-up.Per-File QA Perspective
