During an orderly backend shutdown, BackendProxyHandler.close() first queues backendStopped (and shutdown-time logout messages) through the HTTP connector, but this path immediately calls active.close(), which stops the poller and discards its in-memory outgoing queue without a final bounded poll. Unless the message happened to enter an already-building request, a dedicated voting proxy retains the backend and its players until the 90-second presence timeout and can route online-only rewards toward a backend that has already stopped. Give the cleanup worker a bounded final flush before closing the connector.
