A one-off web app for checking your own hearing and measuring a frequency response curve (ACH) — with the ability to compare your hearing against that of another person.
- Test using a 3-AFC scheme (three blocks): pick where the tone played.
- Staircase 2-up / 1-down — adapts to your hearing threshold.
- Frequency range: 20–20000 Hz.
- Frequency-response plotting (Chart.js): each person's curve + the ISO 226 reference.
- Compare against another person's hearing: any profile can be set as the reference.
- Auto-save to localStorage + JSON export.
- Resume an unfinished test after a page reload.
Just open index.html in a browser — no server needed now that it is a plain
script. Chart.js loads from a CDN, so an internet connection is needed on first
load.
You can still run a local server (e.g. python -m http.server 8000); it keeps
working fine with plain HTML.
- Press ▶ on the person you want (or "+ Add person" to add one).
- When you hear a tone, click the block where it played. Three blocks = choose one of three.
- "Didn't hear anything" — when there was no tone at all (always the wrong answer).
- ↻ — replay the current trial.
- "ISO base" (the circle by a profile) — set that person as the reference for comparison.
- Plain html / css / js, no build step.
- Chart.js — loaded from a CDN.
index.html— markup.style.css— styles.app.mjs— logic.ear.svg— icon.
- Everything is stored in browser localStorage.
- "Download JSON" exports all results to a file.
- Moving to another device — copy this browser's localStorage.
