To everyone still having troubles with this:

I sent a message to NPM support asking to be removed from the maintainers' list and they did it for me.

Here's what I sent them:

Hello npm Support,

I am trying to remove my npm account, marcoskwkm, as a maintainer/owner of the package @vtex/api, which I worked on in the past.

I ran:

npm owner rm marcoskwkm @vtex/api

After re-authenticating successfully with npm, the command failed with the following error:

npm error code EOWNERMUTATE
npm error Failed to update package: "404 Not Found - PUT https://registry.npmjs.org/@vtex%2fapi/-rev/1322-bcde1477e76ead15276c9de15a2e97b3 - Team not found"

This occurred on July 23, 2026, at approximately 01:02 UTC.

It appears that a missing or stale npm organization team may be preventing the package ownership record from being updated. I no longer work on this nor any other '@vtex' prefixed package and would like my account removed from its maintainer or collaborator list so that I no longer receive publication notifications or retain access.

Could you please:

Remove marcoskwkm from the maintainers or collaborators of @vtex/api.
Check whether the package contains a stale team reference that is causing the EOWNERMUTATE: Team not found error.

@marcoskwkm I don't think they were removed. I can see them on https://www.npmjs.com/package/vtex/access and https://www.npmjs.com/package/@vtex/api/access
