The original MLDP gRPC definition includes an Annotation API for identifying and describing datasets in the archive, and uploading user calculations derived from those datasets. That API was developed early in the project, and needs some "modernization" to bring it up to par with newer APIs (like the PV metadata API) to follow the same method naming patterns, support for deletion and query paging, etc. Once that process is complete, this ticket will be updated with more details about the API methods to be supported by the Python interface.
