A tour of simple-feed-reader, taken on a demo account that follows a handful of mainstream news, tech, science, food, culture and sport feeds. Every surface works in a light and a dark theme; both are shown where they differ most.
The default layout: a single reading column of varied cards, with the sidebar of feeds, tags, and saved searches. The lead card gets the big image.
The airy style drops the card frames and lets the images breathe.
The entry list on the left, the article next to it. Drag the divider to change the split.
One line per entry with a thumbnail, for working through a lot of items fast.
The extracted full text, with author, reading-time estimate and a link to the original. Switch to the feed's own version at any time.
Full-text search across your articles, with matches highlighted. Save a search as a named view in the sidebar; each keeps its own unread count.
Alongside favorites, a separate list for the articles you want to come back to.
Podcasts and SoundCloud feeds play in a persistent player with a playlist: episode artwork, previous and next, and a panel to reorder or remove episodes. Play and Add to playlist sit on every audio entry.
Connect a Bluesky or Mastodon account in Settings → Social Media. Its home timeline, lists and custom feeds arrive as private feeds, followed accounts as feeds under the network's own section, and the sidebar counts them like any other feed.
A post shows what it embeds — images, video, a link card or the post it quotes — with its likes and replies in the reader.
An optional personal feed. A model of your choice ranks your unread entries against what you favorite, keep and read.
The same reader fills a phone screen: the magazine, the compact list, the article, and the sidebar as a drawer.

On first run, pick from a curated catalog by topic — or skip it and add your own feeds.
Every feed and tag on one page: drag to reorder, select several to tag them or change their visibility in bulk.
Reading preferences; the email digest with its cadence and format; your account and passkeys.
Connected Bluesky and Mastodon accounts, and which of their follows, lists and feeds to bring in.
OPML in and out, and a full account backup you can restore on another instance.
Choose the provider and control how "For you" is built.
An optional email groups new entries that match your saved searches.
Per-user status, roles, footprint, and limits; approve or reject sign-ups.
The curated catalog new users pick from: import the bundled one or curate your own.
The sign-up policy, the public base URL and the passkey domain; the SMTP server the instance sends with; a SOCKS5 or HTTP proxy for feed and article fetches.
