Apple Motion Enhancement Request · A new template type: Subtitle #555

Final Cut Pro 12.3 cannot animate word highlighting to match spoken words (as first seen in Apple Clips for iOS a long time ago).

I suggest Motion should be able build a new kind of template: A Final Cut Subtitle.

This would include elements that Final Cut could manipulate to highlight words as they are spoken.

These two elements would not be able to be deleted because if they were, the template would no longer be a Subtitle template:

  1. A Sequence Text behavior that would be set to Select Range: Word

  2. A widget that would manipulate Select:Start Index and Select: End Index of the sequence text behavior to highlight word by word. This widget would be visible in Motion, but not in Final Cut. Final Cut would use transcription with timing information to highlight the correct word.
